Founded in March 1964 by R. Kent Waddell, Kent’s Cycles has been a cornerstone of the Abilene riding community for over six decades. What began as the passion project of a West Texas oilman and devoted motorcycle enthusiast has grown into a second-generation, family-owned dealership built on heritage, trust, and a love for the ride.
Kent himself was an avid collector, amassing more than 100 antique motorcycles over the years—many of which are still proudly displayed at the dealership today, offering customers a glimpse into the rich history of motorcycling.
Our team is just as much a part of our story. With multiple employees serving 30+ years and remarkably low turnover, Kent’s Cycles is powered by experienced, dedicated professionals who treat every customer like family.
Over the years, we’ve built a reputation that extends far beyond Abilene. We’ve hosted the Texas State H.O.G.® Rally in both 2006 and 2014, earned recognition as a Ride Texas Magazine “Top 10 Dealership” multiple times, and have been voted “Best Motorcycle Dealership” 18 consecutive years by the Abilene Reporter-News People’s Choice Awards.
